Parents
- What to expect.
Dear parents,
i just wanted to say a few words to parents, as over the
years i have noticed a direct correlation between a students
success in our classes and the level of commitment that a
parent makes.
First of all, none of our classes are not a child minding
service as you are fully aware, and that we activley encourage
parents to sit in our classses, to see their childs progression
as well as showing that we have an open door policy unlike
others, and have nothing to hide. The child protection officer
has also written a letter along these lines, and ask that
parents of little puma's are in attendance at all times,
to help with issues such as taking to the toilet etc. (please
see letter on site).
Although not every juniors parent has the time in todays
busy lifestyles, it is noticed that the parents whho see
and speak to the instrucotrs regularly, can help with thier
childs development in class. The parents who watch in class,
at gradings, take their child to competitions and other events,
whatever the reason, seem to produce children who stick at
it longer, who last the test of time, and who develop their
skills better and quicker.
Even more so are the families who take part in tkd all together,
dads, mums, kids, grandads etc. These families stick toghether
and train together, enjoy weekends away together at events
and competitions, and grade together.
Although not everyone can commit to that extreme, what i
am asking is that in some small way, some involvement is
far better for your childs development and longevity of this
activity, which in turn will increase your value for money.
this is far better than none at all. Hope you fnd this helpful.
