Commands – all these commands are used in class, so this should be easy for you to remember. You will need to be able to show the command, in different orders, as well as to say what it is in Korean or English.
Charyot
Attention!
With arms out and heels together, this is what you do before you bow.
Kyong-ye
Bow!
Bow from the waist, eyes looking forward. You are expected to bow at the beginning and end of class, to greet an instructor or student, and when you enter or leave a training hall.
Goman
Stop!
As soon as you hear this you must stop immediately.
Chunbi
Ready
This is a ready position. You need to get into this position quickly to show your instructor you are
waiting quietly, standing still and listening out for you next instructions
Si-jak
Start!
This command means you can start your exercises or movements as requested by your instructor.
Haessan Dismiss!
This means you can leave the class, as the session has ended.
