Congratulations to Dartington Little PUMA’s
Several students from the Dartington Primary School took
part in a recent grading held at Totnes Pavillions.
Students Rhys Gribble, and Owen Gribble gained their new
coloured belts and Ross Pratt became the second ever Dartington
student to become a Little PUMA Black Belt. Sam Osborn being
the first, last year.
Both Ross and Sam trained for 2 years in the Little PUMA
classes for 4-6 yr olds based at Totnes on Thursdays and
at Dartington Primary, Mondays after school.
For 4 yr olds, to have the commitment and of course the
backing and perseverance of the parents, for two whole years
of weekly training is a phenomenal challenge, so it is a
great achievement to gain this ultimate goal through their
indomitable spirit and commitment.
Ross, Rhys and Owen, were tested on basic martial art skills,
theory, and the theme of emergency skills. This meant that
they also had to learn about fire drills, who and how to
call in an emergency, their green cross code, basic self
defence skills etc, all incredibly valuable skills.
They received their new belts, and they are now awaiting
their special certificates from their organsisation. Well
done boys.
