Great Awards for South Hams students

South Hams held a grading recently at the Totnes Civic Hall for all South Hams PUMA Taekwon-do juniors and adults and at various other venues around the area for 36 more 4-6yr olds, in the Little PUMA martial art programme.

All were successful, with one grading award being presented to 17 yr old, Charlotte Levy from Rattery, at her Totnes Pavillions club on Thursday evening. This was Charlottes last coloured belt grading, and Master Gayle 7 th Degree, the Chairman and Chief Examiner for the Professional Unification of Martial arts was highly impressed by her knowledge and understanding of Taekwon-do as well as her high skill level. She will continue her training and hopefully within the next year she will become one of the newest totnes lady black belts.

Charlotte was awarded a Credit on the day, amongst Totnes club colleagues Genevieve Goldsack Rowlands, Sophie Chisholm, and Totnes club juniors - Jim Volrath, Connor Taylor and James Heathfield.

In the Little PUMA section, the Dartington club, based at Dartington Primary School , has its first ever Little PUMA Black Belt in Sam Osborn. Sam has reached an incredibly high standard at the young age of 6, with only last week winning a Gold medal in the Southern Championships in Paignton.

Sam will now be moving up to the junior Taekwon-do classes, to start his training for a Taekwon-do Black Belt next. He will be moving up with the latest Totnes Little PUMA Black Belt, Elin Eaton of St Johns Primary School . Elin has also been training since she was 4 years old, and will join her brother in the junior TKD class at the Totnes Pavillions.
