Junior coloured belt Taekwon-do Championships Oct 05 Exeter
30 students took part from the South Hams schools at this fundraising event for CancerUK and the Exeter display Teams. It was an unexpected success, as there were around 200 children taking part at this small venue. More than a junior national event. Full report

Newly Qualified Assistant Instructor 2005
Ms claire Roughley 1st degree, is now an officially qualified Assistant Instructor. Congratulations. Claire will continue assisting at totnes on sundays and dartmouth on thursdays, from where you can gain her expert tuition.

Youngest 2nd degree in our South Hams schools
Congratulations to Darren Luker who passed his 2nd degree on Sunday 9th October 2005

At a presentation evening held in Swindon on Saturday 22nd Oct 2005 - , Darren Luker was awarded his second degree black belt and certificate. Darren is the youngest 2nd degree in our South Hams schools.

Ms Claire Roughley also recieved her Assistant Instructor ceritifcate.

Scottish Championships
Students from the South Hams TaeKwon Do clubs took the high road to Glasgow in September to compete in the Scottish National Championships.  A total of eight students from Totnes and Kingsbridge clubs attended the competition including their instructor Lesley McGhie and returned home with a total of sixteen medals.  Ms McGhie said she was very proud of all the students for making the effort to attend and that their determination and hard work in class had truly paid off.  The students won a total of seven gold medals, six silver medals and three bronze, full results here.

Totnes Taekwon-do gains two new Black Belts
Sally and Mike Davies of the Totnes taekwon-do school recently gained their PUMA taekwon-do Black Belt at a National Grading held in Chippenham last weekend. More
