New Examiner, New Black Belt Training for South Hams Martial Arts Students

South Hams Martial Art students are enjoying a new journey presently. The South Hams clubs, students and instructors are all now in partnership with the more local South Coast Martial Arts group which are based in Plymouth, Ivybridge & Cornwall, which will provide more local benefits and events, as well as being affiliated back to the Founders Taekwon-do, the ITF, allowing more development in International circles too.

This week the Totnes Black Belts enjoyed some black belt company with a 5th Degree Instructor and Black belts from near by clubs from Kingsbridge, Dawlish and all parts of Plymouth. A training session for all black belts just helps to up their game, rather than the mixed classes that many are used to and with selections for the World ITF Championships, taking place this week, it was a well timed extra boost. As part of this new organisation, Black Belts from South Hams will now enjoy regular Black belt training sessions with colleagues around the area. With a previous training session of up to 40 black belts, it can only help to push students towards higher standards and more international goals.

Recently approx 30 coloured belt students took part in a Taekwon-do grading at Kingsbridge Community College, all being examined under a new examiner Mr Chris Wood, 5th Degree.

The students who graded, worked as hard as normal to show off their Taekwon-do technical and sparring skills, which resulted in all students passing and some with Credits and Distinctions.
