TV Interview
Yesterday, 20th May, saw a last minute planning to rush uniforms and certificates to the kingsbridge Primary School where they kindly let us use their library to film the '3 amigos'. Harry Medway 1st Deg, Credit, Sam Barnett 1st Deg, Dan Stone 1st Deg, were asked to perform their tkd skills for Westcountry TV. The presenter and camerman spent over an hour filming sparring, kicks and set sparring, as well as interviews with Instructor Lesley McGhie 3rd Degree, the '3 Amigos' and mum Sophie Barnett 1st Deg, Credit. Westcountry were interested in the story of these 3 young boys who started training 7 yrs ago in the Little PUMA programme, of which Mrs Barnett now instructs at Kingsbridge Leisure Centre, and then the rest of thier years in the junior section, before being presented with their black belts and certificates this week. It is unusual to have 3 juniors who started so long ago, to still be training and receive thier 1st Degrees at the same time. When asked by WEstcountry, they said that it was down to teamwork, and that when one wanted to quit, the others keeped them going. THey are all thankful of each others help to be where they are now. THe crew also chatted to Sam's mum, about what it was like training alongside her son, and she reported that it was 'Fab'. WHat a special day for boys and Sophie, which just puts the icing on the cake of thier recent achievements. We must not forget the achievements of thier other totnes and kingsbridge training colleagues who also did exceptionally well that day.
